COTTON PLANT – A drug seizure in the Cotton Plant area of Tippah County has yielded approximately 165 plants of marijuana, along with other contraband, according to Tippah County Sheriff Karl Gaillard.
Law enforcement officers from Tippah County Sheriff’s Department, Union County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics were on site Tuesday afternoon where the plants were being gathered.
The plants were spotted from a helicopter flying above the three properties from which they were harvested. No arrests have yet been made.
The incident is under investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and further details will be published as they become available.
