IUKA – An ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs led to the arrest of a Corinth man.

Tishomingo County Sheriff John Daugherty said investigators were watching Jose Martinez Capetillo for suspected narcotics trafficking at a business in Tishomingo County.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Capetillo, 41 , of 37 Pace Terrace, Corinth, on Highway 72 in the Burnsville area. As Capetillo’s vehicle was being pulled over, he attempted to throw methamphetamine as well as marijuana from the window.

Law enforcement recovered approximately $1,000 worth of alleged methamphetamine, approximately quarter-ounce of marijuana, $3,313.00 in cash and a 2002 Ford vehicle. Capetillo was charged with felony possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a church.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as Alcorn Sheriff’s Department has also placed a hold on Capetillo for their investigators.
