OXFORD – An Oxford man is facing burglary charges in a pair of incidents.
Marcus Hilliard, 34, is charged with two counts of residential burglary related to incidents last month.
In the first incident, on April 1, Oxford Police officers responded to an intruder in Falls Grove. The victim said a black male followed her home in a white car and forced his way into the house. The victim said her cell phone was missing, and the suspect called his own cell phone from the victim’s phone after stealing it.
The victim found the number through her phone records, and the number came back to Hilliard’s phone.
On April 23, officers responded to an intruder on North 14th Street. The victim said she had left her door unlocked for when her boyfriend returned home. The suspect walked into the woman’s home, laid in her bed, and began to kiss her.
The victim opened her eyes and realized it was the man who had cut her lawn, not her boyfriend. After Hillard left the house, witnesses said they saw him drive away in a white car.
Both victims picked Hilliard out of a lineup, and he was charged Tuesday. Bond was set at $5,000.
