SHANNON – An Okolona man was charged with aggravated assault following a Monday afternoon shooting at a Shannon trailer park.
Maurice Moses Johnson, 35, will also face charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and violation of probation. Bond on the first charge was set at $7,500 but the Mississippi Department of Corrections will likely place a hold on Johnson for the probation violation.
Shannon police were called to C&C Drive around 2:15 p.m. Witnesses said two men got into an argument. One pulled out a gun and fired three shots, with one striking the victim, Dewan Woodard, 22, in the lower leg. The bullet lodged in his calf and had to be surgically removed.
