An Aberdeen woman was killed in a two-car wreck Saturday morning.
The accident happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Commerce Street and U.S. Highway 45 South in Aberdeen, according to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley.
According to witnesses, a woman driving a Pontiac Sunfire ran a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by a 1977 Jeep International Scout. Kathy Mae Marks, 62, of Aberdeen, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Jeep, an Amory man, was not seriously injured.
The Aberdeen Police Department investigated the accident.
