NEW ALBANY – Law enforcement is searching for a 17-year-old Union County girl who might have run away from home.

New Albany police were alerted during the early morning hours of Sunday that Amanda Dees had packed some clothes and left through her bedroom window. Police was called around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 and told the girl might have been picked up by a man driving a four-door black and maroon car.

The teen’s boyfriend denied any involvement.

New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson said the girl did not report for school. Since she took multiple sets of clothes, it is not known what she might be wearing, Robertson said.

Anyone with information on Dees or her whereabouts is asked to call the New Albany police at 534-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-773-8477.
