IUKA – Tishomingo County deputies jailed two men over the Thanksgiving holiday on felony drug possession charges.
On Friday, deputies working a wreck in Paden saw a pickup make an illegal U-turn to avoid the officers. Deputies stopped the truck, and a subsequent search uncovered alleged methamphetamine. Justin Sauls, 30, of Highway 25 South, Dennis, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $5,000.
On Saturday, deputies stopped a man on Jefferson Street in Burnsville for not wearing a seat belt. When the deputy approached the car, he could smell marijuana. The driver later handed the officer a bag containing a large amount of marijuana and scales.
Cortez Travon Keith, 28, of Burnsville, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. His bond was set at $2,500.
