OXFORD – A man and woman from Clarksdale were arrested Sunday after trying to steal numerous items from an Oxford store.
Walmart employees told police they saw two people taking multiple items off the shelves and placing them in garbage cans throughout the store. Oxford police officers were waiting outside the store when the suspects exited with the stolen items.
Tamara Stewart 41, and Demitrius Conner, 42, were arrested and charged with shoplifting. Bond was set at $2,500 each.
