OXFORD – Police have charged a second person in connection with an Oct. 6 shooting on Old Taylor Road.

The Oxford Police Department charged Jazzmonica Johnson, 22, of Oxford, with accessory before the fact to aggravated assault.

According to police, Johnson and the victim were driving down the road when they got into a verbal argument. She pulled into an apartment complex on Old Taylor Road and called a male friend to come help her. Artemus Boyd, 22, of Fulton, arrived at the car and began arguing with the victim. Boyd pulled a gun, fired multiple times and fled on foot.

Johnson then drove the victim to Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Police interviewed the victim and Johnson in the emergency room. The victim was later transferred to the intensive care unit.

Boyd was arrested that night and charged with aggravated assault. Johnson was arrested Monday. Her bond was set at $15,000.
