Two Californians were arrested on drug charges by Oxford Police on Thursday morning.
Able Ruiz Jr., 30, of Porterville, California, and Joanna Orona, 36, of Dinubay, California, were arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 6. A drug dog alerted police to the presence of narcotics during the stop.
After a search warrant was obtained, approximately 28 pounds of marijuana and 0.3 grams of cocaine were found in multiple compartments of the vehicle.
Both Ruiz and Orona face charges of trafficking and possession, and each has had bond set at $50,000.
The Metro Narcotics Unit assisted in the arrests.
