CORINTH – An Alcorn County businessman will spend the next 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to the enticement of a child for sexual purposes.

Justin L. Plunk, 29, the owner of a computer business in Corinth, entered a guilty plea in late June, on the day his trial was set to begin. Following the plea, Plunk argued that his parents pressured him into pleading guilty. During a September hearing, that motion was denied.

“I am relieved this case is finally over and Plunk is going to prison for his crime against a 13-year-old defenseless victim,” said District Attorney John Weddle. “Plunk has taken advantage of every delay possible through the course of the case and is finally having to answer for his actions.”

On Friday, Circuit Court Judge James L. Roberts sentenced Plunk to serve the term day-for-day, with no reduction of the sentence for good behavior. Plunk’s sentence will require him to register as a convicted sex offender.
