BOONEVILLE – A Rienzi man was caught when he was seen trying to restart a fire at a trailer home.
On Sunday, Prentiss County Sheriff’s deputies took a report involving the arson of a mobile home on County Road 8262 in the Pisgah community. Deputies were called back to the scene after witnesses saw a man return to the same spot and re-ignite a fire of the same residence.
The witness gave authorities a description of the suspect’s vehicle, and a deputy pulled over a similar vehicle on Highway 4 West. Luke Paul Morris, 36, of 31 County Road 8262, Rienzi, was charged with two counts of arson and one count of domestic violence. Bond was set at $40,000 on the arson charges and $2,500 on the domestic violence.
