BOONEVILLE – Prentiss County deputies, along with regional and state narcotics agents seized more than four-dozen adult marijuana plants Thursday.

According to Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar, deputies, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, seized around 50 marijuana plants, some as tall as 6.5 feet. Tolar said a tip led officials to the house west of Booneville.

“Some of the plants we believe would yielded up to three pounds each,” said Tolar. “The street value of the matured plants is thought to be over $250,000.”

Also seized were seven long guns and four handguns, approximately $5,200 in cash and a 2012 John Deere Zero Turn Mower.

Officials charged James Roy Eaton, 57, of 564 Highway 4 West, Booneville, with manufacturing marijuana. He remains in the Prentiss County Jail awaiting his initial appearance.
