TUPELO – The woman accused of helping case a house Wednesday then returning the next morning has been charged.
Angela Holly, 30, of 20323 Little Coontail Road, Aberdeen, was charged with burglary of an auto Friday afternoon and is being held in the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said Holly accompanied Gary Sneed Jr. on May 18 when they went to a County Road 736 residence and pretended to have car trouble. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras.
“Watching the video, while the homeowner was helping the male with the car, the female was walking around the property and pointing at the surveillance cameras,” said Johnson. “We think they came back under the cover of night thinking the cameras wouldn’t see them.”
Sneed and Holly returned around 4 a.m. The armed homeowner confronted Sneed who had broken into a car. When he lunged, she fired one shot, killing the 35-year-old man. The homeowner detained Holly while waiting for deputies to arrive. She was booked into the jail at 6:01 a.m. and held a day while officials decided what charges she should face.
“She never got out of the car,” Johnson said. “She was possibly asleep or under the influence of something, but she was just as involved.”
