OXFORD – A man accused of stealing a car from an Oxford restaurant was arrested earlier this week in Hammond, Louisiana.
According to Oxford Police, the vehicle was stolen Dec. 19, 2015 from Oby’s on University Avenue. Jason Charles Holtgren, 36, of Hammond, then drove the car out of state. When the Hammond Police Department responded to a domestic situation between Holtgren and his girlfriend, he ran away. He was captured after a short foot chase.
When police called in the tag of the car in the driveway, they learned it had been reported stolen.
Holtgren is currently in jail on other charges on a $175,000 bond. Whenever those charges are cleared, he will be transferred to Oxford to face a grand larceny charge.
