Burglary spree ends with four arrests

BOONEVILLE – Teamwork between adjoining counties helped to solve a strong of burglaries in Prentiss County.

According to Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar, a recent burglary in Tishomingo County provided the break needed to arrest four people on burglary charges.

Mickey McVey, 38, of Booneville, was charged with two counts of grand larceny involving utility trailers (one containing an air compressor) from Highway 30 West and County Road 5011. He was also charged with burglary of a dwelling on County Road 1341 and conspiracy to possess or distribute a controlled substance. He has been released on a $12,500 bond.

Steven Gentry, 30, of Booneville, was charged with two counts of grand larceny for the trailer thefts, burglary of a dwelling on County Road 5050, conspiracy to recieve/possess stolen property and receiving stolen property. The later two charges stemmed from the burglary in Tishomingo County involving several guns. Gentry’s bond has not been set. He was transferred to the Union County Jail on a Mississippi Department of Corrections hold.

Amber Johnson, 26, of Belmont, is charged with burglary of a dwelling on County Road 5050, conspiracy to receive/possess stolen property and possession of stolen property. Her bond has not been set, she remains in the Tishomingo County Jail with a hold for Prentiss County.

Jessica Rhodes, 30, of Booneville, is charged with burglary of a dwelling on County Road 5050. She is being held on a $5,000 bond.
